SUMMARY:Sketching Outside - Learning to Draw Plein Air
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nCome out and enjoy urban sketching with us! \nIn connection with Artascope Studios’ Plein Air Art Festival (August 10th-20th)\, there will be a free demonstration at the Yarmouth Farmers’ Market by local artist and Artascope instructor Chris Magnuson on Thursday\, August 18th from 3PM to 6PM. \nSketching outside is all about capturing a setting in time\, while connecting people of all abilities within a sketching group\, or sometimes\, across the globe! Great for artistic skill building\, documenting your travels or simply filling time in your day\, urban sketching encourages and allows you an opportunity for stress relief\, self-expression and fun\, so come to the demo and try it out! \nFREE (Must register in advance to ensure we have enough materials.) \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: A lifelong passion for drawing led artist Christopher Magnuson to painting in watercolor\, a medium that allows the drawing underneath to directly inform the finished product. His command of line work and energetic\, expressive drawing style elevate the drawing to an equal partnership with the paint\, in landscapes that depict the familiar\, recognizable and sometimes unconventional beauty of Maine.
