SUMMARY:Introduction to Stained Glass One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT.\nSunday\, January 5th from 9:00AM-4:00PM \nThis introduction to stained glass workshop will cover the basics of working with glass\, including cutting\, grinding\, foiling\, and soldering. Students will be able to create one\, two and even three stained glass flowers with the time allowed. All of the steps of a stained class project can be redone so there is very little risk of not creating a nice piece. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The $20 materials kit can be purchased at the beginning of the workshop. (For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. The studio will be closed during this break\, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own\, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area. \nOpen to adults only. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: As an artist\, Kathy Williams focuses on creating work that will make people happy when they look at it. SUMMARY:Beginner Metalsmithing - Thursday 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:Starts Thursday\, January 23rd (Thursday mornings from 10AM-1PM for six weeks.) \nCLASS DATES: 1/23; 1/30; 2/6; 2/13; 2/27; and 3/6. (There is no class on 2/20.) \nThis class will expose students to the basics of metalsmithing. Students will be introduced to the tools and techniques required to make custom\, handmade jewelry. Techniques such as annealing\, forming\, soldering\, sawing\, drilling\, and finishing techniques will be covered. We will be making a set of cuffs\, a pair of earrings\, stacking rings\, and pendants. No prior experience needed. An overview can be emailed upon request. \nFee does not include materials. The materials supply kit is $50 and can be purchased directly from the instructor. \nNon-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Racheal Cooley has a degree in art and biology.
