SUMMARY:Absolute Beginner Watercolor One-Day Wednesday Workshop
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nHave you ever wanted to try watercolors? Do you wonder about the supplies and techniques that professional watercolor artists use? This is your chance to experiment with professional supplies\, learn basic watercolor techniques\, and explore the medium and all the different methods of painting with watercolors. \nStudents will learn about the importance of the water/pigment ratio\, three basic methods of mixing colors\, the three-layer technique\, and more. Everything is provided for you\, just come and enjoy the day. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. A $35 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the start of the workshop. \nNOTE: Masks are required. \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. The studio will be closed during this break\, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own\, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area. \nThis workshop is full\, but you can add yourself to the waitlist on the next screen by clicking the button below. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Deena S. Ball is a nationally renowned landscape painter known for her innovative use of watercolor in combination with a textured ground and specialized surfaces. She received her BA in Art history and Studio Art from Colby College in Waterville\, Maine\, and continued her studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Art and Tyler School of Art. Deena’s work is exhibited extensively throughout the Mid-Atlantic region\, and can be found in issues of Watercolor Artist and the annual publications of the watercolor book\, Splash. Deena’s work is primarily landscapes with many of her paintings done on location outside. SUMMARY:Acrylic Techniques 6-week Artist Series - THURSDAY PM
DESCRIPTION:Starts November 9th (Thursday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for 6 weeks.) \nNOTE: Class dates will be: 11/9; 11/16; 11/30; 12/7; 12/14; and 12/21. There is no class on Thanksgiving Day.  \nArtists explore basic acrylic painting techniques in a flexible\, supportive setting. Color mixing and theories\, paint and imagery layering\, composition\, and other fundamentals are discussed. We paint and interpret from observation\, printed photos and imagination. Contemporary and past artists act as kindred spirits and influence weekly prompts. We begin with a demo and warm up on paper\, then develop ideas on canvas. All levels are welcome. \nSupplies: Supply list will be emailed by the instructor before the first class. \nNon-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200. \nMasks are optional for this series. \n \n  \n  \n  \n\nInstructor bio: Jen MacDonald has studied many different art mediums and has come to love acrylic paint. She is fond of exploring the beauty of flowers by painting with an unusual perspective and deeply vibrant and saturated color.
