SUMMARY:Make Your Own Chain Bracelet One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Make your own simple chain-link bracelet with a hook clasp. Some soldering experience is excellent. \nMaterials kit: $30 for Silver / $60 for Gold Filled \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The materials kit (silver or gold options) can be purchased at the beginning of the workshop. \n(For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have an hour break for lunch. SUMMARY:Metalsmithing for Beginners Tuesday 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nStarts Tuesday\, January 17th (Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for six weeks.) \nIMPORTANT: Masks are required for this series. \nLearn the basics of jewelry metalsmithing in a fun\, relaxed atmosphere–no prior experience required. Each class will introduce tools and techniques to include hammering\, soldering\, and riveting\, as well as ways to shape and texture metal. Class projects include a hammered cuff\, fold-formed leaves and simple soldered rings as well as samples to inspire individual creativity and ways to customize projects. This series will also include important information on tool & equipment safety. A class overview can be emailed upon request \nFee does not include materials. The required $20 materials supply kit can be purchased directly from the instructor. DESCRIPTION:Due to the winter storm on Monday\, January 23rd\, this series has been postponed again to Monday\, January 30th.\nDue to the winter storm on Monday\, January 16th\, this series has been postponed to start Monday\, January 23rd.\nSOLD OUT. \nStarts Monday\, January 30th (Mondays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for six weeks) \n​Class dates: 1/30 and 2/6; 2/13; 2/20; 2/27; with sixth and last class date to be determined. \nParticipants will learn basic fabrication techniques such as piercing\, forming\, soldering\, and surface finishing. In addition\, there will be demonstrations on stone setting techniques for rings & pendants. Discussions will include applying design principles to jewelry making and how to improve craftsmanship. This class is open to beginners & intermediate metalsmiths. \nFee does not include materials. The $50 materials kit can be purchased directly from the instructor. The kit utilizes sterling silver and brass components.
