SUMMARY:Torch Fired Enamel - Saturday Metalsmithing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 6th from 1:30PM-7:30PM\nLearn the basics of torch firing and fusing colored powdered glass enamel onto vintage pennies or copper shapes to create colorful metal pieces. The materials fee of $30 includes all necessary materials\, such as handouts\, enamels\, opalescent\, stringers\, ear wires and leather for pendants\, and display cards for gift giving. This class will teach you the ancient technique of adding color to metals. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. \nThe materials kit is $35 and can be purchased from the instructor at the beginning of the workshop. \n(For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have a 20-minute break\, so feel free to bring a snack. \nLaura’s workshops are open to teens ages 13 and up when accompanied by an adult. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Laura Jamison of LJ Studios Metalsmith is an instructor from New Hampshire. \nClick here to view our cancellation policy.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at Artascope on Saturday\, September 21st from 4:00PM-6:00PM for our in person reception which wraps up our 2024 Plein Air Art Festival. You’ll find over 100 auction items donated by Artascope members and friends. Paintings by Liz Prescott\, Michael Vermette\, Tamara Jones\, Cooper Dragonette\, ceramics by Pam Delphenich\, Rebecca Laflam\, Sandie Roberts\, Joanna Morris\, jewelry by Kim Round and Rick Stark\, and so much more! \nThe reception begins at 4:00PM at 48 Railroad Square in Yarmouth\, ME. In person bidding starts immediately and last bids will be taken at 5:30pm. Come take advantage of the deals! Many items will sell for below their fair market value.  \nWe will be raffling off two 6-week Artist Series classes ($250 Value each)\, which can be redeemed for metalsmithing\, ceramics\, painting\, or drawing series. We offer affordable and accessible art experiences to all and we make it easy for you to support our mission by putting together gorgeous artwork for you to purchase. Buying one of the items from our auction is a WIN WIN WIN–it benefits the artist (they receive 50% of the sale)\, it benefits you (you get the inspiring artwork for you or a loved one)\, and it benefits Artascope (with much needed capital to execute our mission). What could be better? \nBe sure to check out the 90+ artworks available in our fundraising auction\, available online until the Closing Reception. It is an impressive mash-up of creative output featuring handcrafted items and paintings from some of the best artists in Maine. Works by Eric Jacobsen\, Liz Prescott\, and Garin Baker are included\, as well as discounted art classes and beautiful jewelry and ceramics made by our members\, teachers\, and friends. \nArtwork that has not already been sold will be on view at Bickford Pavilion\, 1 Railroad Square\, Yarmouth\, Maine on Saturday\, September 23rd from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.
