SUMMARY:Signet Ring Wax Carving Two-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nSignet Ring Wax Carving Two-day Workshop on April 16th (full-day) and May 7th (half-day). \nLearn the ancient technique of lost wax casting. In the first class on Sunday\, April 16th from 9AM-4PM\, you will design\, lay out\, and carve a signet ring in your choice of several shapes. \nWe next meet on Sunday\, May 7th from 9AM-NOON for you to clean up and finish your ring after it is cast in your choice of silver or brass. \nBasic wax carving\, tool use\, and finishing techniques will be covered. No prior metalsmithing experience necessary. \n$149 workshop fee does not include materials. Supply kit available from instructor for $35 on first workshop day. (For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm on the first workshop day. Bring your own lunch or check out one of the local restaurants in the area. \nOpen to adults only. Please contact us directly if you are interested in seeing metalsmithing options for teens. \nNOTE: Masks are required in this workshop. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Carly Cooke has been a full-time bench jeweler since 2012\, and started her business\, Flux Jewelry Studio in 2018. Carly pieced together her jewelry education through workshops at Haystack\, Metalwerks\, SMCC\, and an inspiring year in Florence\, Italy learning traditional metalsmithing techniques.
