SUMMARY:Beginner Metalsmithing - Wednesday 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:Starts Wednesday\, September 16th (Wednesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for six weeks.) \nLearn the basics of metalsmithing. Students will be introduced to the tools and techniques required to make custom\, handmade jewelry. Techniques such as annealing\, forming\, soldering\, sawing\, drilling\, and finishing techniques will be covered. We will be making a set of cuffs\, a pair of earrings\, stacking rings\, and pendants. No prior experience needed. SUMMARY:Beginner Bezel Setting Thursday 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:Starts Thursday\, September 17th (Thursday mornings from 10:00AM-1:00PM for six weeks.) \nThis course is a full overview of bezel settings\, starting with simple bezels and progressing up to custom setting unusual shapes. The first half of the series is project based. We will start by making a pair of earrings using bezel cups and progress to custom bezel pendants. The second half of the series will be a self-designed project with instructor support. For that project a selection of stones will be available but students are also welcome to bring in small stones or objects from home. This is a beginner class\, no prior metalsmithing experience is needed. \nMaterials are not included in the series price. The estimated materials fee is $40* and includes everything needed to complete the course\, including your choice of stones.
