SUMMARY:Painting Reflections in Water: One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, August 12th from 9:00AM-4:00PM. Part of the Plein Air Art Festival.\nDiscover methods for painting impactful reflections in water in this one-day workshop with award-winning painter Liz Prescott. With a focus on painting what you see rather than what you think you see\, Liz will guide you in creating gorgeous water and sky scenes. This workshop will provide you with tools to get more drama in your paintings by exploring the incredible show that nature reveals in reflections. Learn to mix the multitude of colors seen in water reflections and play with hard vs. soft edges. Paint in acrylics or oils. Liz will demo in acrylics. \nPlease bring your sketching materials\, charcoal and drawing paper\, as well as a few blank canvases and your acrylic paints as well as your easel set up for painting outside. See a detailed materials list below the artist bio. \nThere will be a lunch break from Noon-1pm. She is a graduate of Maine College of Art (BFA 2000) and Vermont College of Fine Arts (MFA 2003 Visual Arts). Her work is included in the permanent collections at the Portland Museum of Art\, Colby College\, Bowdoin College\, New York Public Library\, and the University of New England. She is a founding member of Meetinghouse Arts Gallery in Freeport\, where she remains an active gallery committee member.
