DESCRIPTION:Starts Tuesday\, January 19th (Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for 6 weeks.) \nDo you have a desire to explore yourself through acrylic painting? Do you want to learn playful and visually appealing techniques that will help you communicate your artistic vision? This class will instruct you in the basics of expressionist painting techniques such as glazing\, washes\, scumbling\, and adding texture. You will learn about the great expressionist painters such as Van Gogh and Paul Klee. And\, you will discover a wealth of new tools to improve your paintings through use of of value\, color\, and composition. Great for beginners who wish to learn the essentials of painting or for intermediate painters looking to break out of realism. A curriculum can be emailed upon request. \nNon-members: $195 for 6 weeks. Members: $156. \nFee does not include materials. A list of recommended supplies is available upon request. Sometimes the best way to learn is to “apprentice” from master painters of the past. In the process of copying these magnificient works of art\, you can learn the nuances that the artists themselves explored. This class will use acrylic paints and is guaranteed to raise your understanding of what creates a good painting\, from composition to color mixing and line work. Throughout the six weeks\, you’ll advance your technical understanding\, value relationships\, and brushwork such as glazing and proper mixing techniques.
