SUMMARY:Stained Glass Suncatcher One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, April 19th from 9:00AM-4:00PM\nIn this one day class we will cover every step of the copper foil stained glass technique including cutting\, grinding\, foiling\, and soldering. A selection of templates will be provided (pictured below the artist bio)\, but we will also cover design considerations\, so you can turn your own ideas into functional pieces of luminous art for your home in the future. Expect to leave class with one completed suncatcher with an attached prism (optional) if you want rainbows! \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. A kit fee of $40 covers design templates\, a selection of glass\, one prism\, chain\, and access to all tools needed to complete your project. \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. The studio will be closed during this break\, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own\, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area. \nOpen to adults only. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Carly Cooke is a full time professional jeweler who fell in love with stained glass and started her second business\, Hot Glass Sass a few years ago. Since then\, she has created window pieces and lighting for herself and friends\, and sells her work at craft shows and galleries in Southern Maine\, where juicy color and fun\, unconventional themes are trademarks of her stained glass work. Join Artascope members and friends on Saturday\, Dec.\, 6th from 9AM-3PM during Yarmouth\, Maine’s Hometown Holidays. \n\n\nShop local\, handmade gifts including fine jewelry\, ceramics\, fiber art\, glass art\, and more! \nPLEASE NOTE: This event is NOT being held at our studio this year\, but instead is being held at the Yarmouth Community Center at 20 Mill Street (in the basement of the Mason Hall Building\, which is located behind 317 Main Community Music Center) in Yarmouth\, Maine. There is plenty of free parking\, plus ADA-approved accessibility for those who need it. \nOur event is free to attend. SUMMARY:Introduction to Stained Glass One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT.\nSunday\, January 5th from 9:00AM-4:00PM \nThis introduction to stained glass workshop will cover the basics of working with glass\, including cutting\, grinding\, foiling\, and soldering. Students will be able to create one\, two and even three stained glass flowers with the time allowed. All of the steps of a stained class project can be redone so there is very little risk of not creating a nice piece. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The $20 materials kit can be purchased at the beginning of the workshop. (For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. The studio will be closed during this break\, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own\, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area. \nOpen to adults only. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: As an artist\, Kathy Williams focuses on creating work that will make people happy when they look at it.
