PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN SKETCHBOOK AND PENCIL. NOTE: In this Intermediate series\, students will provide their own materials and can work in copper\, brass\, bronze\, and/or sterling silver. SUMMARY:Bezel Setting Thursday One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, May 8th from 9:00AM-4:00PM \nThis workshop will walk students through the technique of bezel setting stone. Students will be introduced to the tools and techniques required to make custom\, handmade jewelry. No prior experience needed. \nDuring the first half of the workshop we will cover soldering and setting stones by making a pair of earrings using bezel cups. After the lunch break\, we will learn how to measure the stone and construct our own bezel using bezel wire. At the completion of the workshop\, you will have mastered the technique of bezel setting and take home a unique\, hand crafted pair of earrings and a pendant. An overview can be emailed upon request. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The materials supply kit to make the earrings and pendant only (no chain) is $30 and can be purchased directly from the instructor with Venmo or cash. Extra material will be available for purchase. Students are also welcome to bring their own tools or materials. \n(For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. SUMMARY:Earrings as Gifts - Saturday Metalsmithing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT.\nSaturday\, April 22nd from 1:30PM-7:30PM\nParticipants will be guided through jewelry-making basics\, from selecting materials\, tool use\, and safety to cutting and shaping metal to oxidizing and soldering pieces. Make up to four sets of earrings from scratch–textured studs\, silver hoops\, hammered brass\, and torch-fired enamel copper. This course has a $35 materials fee\, including handouts to re-create your favorites at home\, earring cards\, and boxes for gift giving. Beginner level. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The $35 materials kit can be purchased from the instructor at the beginning of the workshop. \n(For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have a 20-minute break\, so feel free to bring a snack. \nOpen to adults only.
