SUMMARY:Foundations of Ceramics 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:Starts Monday\, February 2nd (Mondays from 6PM-9PM for six weeks.) \nStudents will learn the fundamental techniques used when working with clay. Students will be learning how to make pinch pots\, slab built pots\, and coil pots. This class will also include an introduction to the Potters Wheel. SUMMARY:Metalsmithing for Beginners Tuesday 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:Starts February 3rd (Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for six weeks.) \nLearn the basics of jewelry metalsmithing in a fun\, relaxed atmosphere–no prior experience required. Each class will introduce tools and techniques to include hammering\, soldering\, and riveting\, as well as ways to shape and texture metal. Class projects include a hammered cuff\, fold-formed leaves and simple soldered rings as well as samples to inspire individual creativity and ways to customize projects. This series will also include important information on tool & equipment safety. A class overview can be emailed upon request. \nFee does not include materials. The estimated $30* materials supply kit can be purchased directly from the instructor. SUMMARY:Beginner Bezel Setting Wednesday 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:Starts Wednesday\, February 4th (Wednesday mornings from 10:00AM-1:00PM for six weeks.) \nCLASS DATES: 2/4; 2/11; 2/25; 3/4; 3/11; and 3/18. (There is no class on 2/18.) \nThis course is a full overview of bezel settings\, starting with simple bezels and progressing up to custom setting unusual shapes. The first half of the series is project based. We will be making a pair of earrings\, a ring\, and a pendant. The second half of the series will be a self-designed project with instructor support. For the final project\, a selection of stones will be available but students are also welcome to bring in small stones or objects from home. This is a beginner class\, no prior metalsmithing experience is needed! \nFee does not include materials. The estimated materials fee is $40* and includes everything needed to complete the course\, including your choice of stones. SUMMARY:Beginner Silver Ring Bands One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, February 8th from 9:30AM-4:30PM \nIn this workshop students will make their own silver rings from start to finish. This class will cover basic metalsmithing skills\, such as cutting\, shaping\, and joining metal. You will customize your ring bands with surface design techniques such as filing\, stamping\, and hammering. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The estimated $35* materials kit can be purchased at the beginning of the workshop. (For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \n*NOTE: This is an approximate cost and actual kit cost may be different due to the metals market fluctuation in 2026. \nWe will have an hour break for lunch midday.
