SUMMARY:Metalsmithing for Beginners Tuesday 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nStarts Tuesday\, January 17th (Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for six weeks.) \nIMPORTANT: Masks are required for this series. \nLearn the basics of jewelry metalsmithing in a fun\, relaxed atmosphere–no prior experience required. Each class will introduce tools and techniques to include hammering\, soldering\, and riveting\, as well as ways to shape and texture metal. Class projects include a hammered cuff\, fold-formed leaves and simple soldered rings as well as samples to inspire individual creativity and ways to customize projects. This series will also include important information on tool & equipment safety. A class overview can be emailed upon request \nFee does not include materials. The required $20 materials supply kit can be purchased directly from the instructor. SUMMARY:Beginner Pastels 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nStarts January 23rd (Mondays from 1:30PM-4:30PM for six weeks.) \nStudents will become well grounded in working with pastels\, such as working from dark to light\, different stroke techniques to create different effects\, painting from nature and other objects (trees\, boats\, windows\, doors)\, and more. Each class will start with a teacher demo\, followed by student painting time\, and finishing up with a critique. \nNon-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200. \nMaterials and use of pastel chalks will be provided by the instructor. \nNOTE: Masks are optional in this series. \nCLASS IS FULL\, but you can join the waitlist at the EventBrite page when you click the button below. \n \n  \n  \nAbout the instructor: Corrine (Lynds) Bongiovanni yearned to draw and create from the time she could hold a pencil. Ever a doodler and mentally composing art works from scenes around her\, she finally started sketching lessons at age 28. She hasn’t stopped learning or producing art since. Training in various mediums and styles followed. She continues to paint in watercolors\, oils\, acrylics\, and pastels. Her favorite content includes people\, old architecture\, and landscapes. SUMMARY:Foundations of Ceramics 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:Due to the winter storm on Monday\, January 23rd\, this series has been postponed again to Monday\, January 30th.\nDue to the winter storm on January 16th\, this series has been postponed to start Monday\, January 23rd.\nSOLD OUT. \nStarts Monday\, January 30th (Mondays from 6PM-9PM for six weeks.) \nNOTE: Masks are optional in this series. \nEnjoy a hands-on educational and artistic experience using clay. Students will learn fundamental making and decorating techniques including wheel throwing\, handbuilding and glazing\, as well as sculpting techniques such as coil building\, pinching and handbuilding to create functional and non-functional work. Weekly projects include making cups\, bowls\, and plates. Electric kiln-firing will be available and each person will be working at his or her own level with the guidance of the instructor. \nNon-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200. \nFee does not include materials.
