SUMMARY:Intermediate Metalsmithing 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:Starts May 15th (Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for six weeks). \nCLASS DATES: 5/15; 5/22; 5/29\, and 6/12; 6/19; 6/26. There is no class on 6/5. \nBuilding upon foundational metalsmithing techniques\, this class will elevate your existing skills and inspire you to tackle more advanced jewelry projects. We will cover bezel setting for faceted gemstones\, saw piercing\, soldering techniques\, and finishing. Students will move through assigned projects\, including a pair of sterling silver “diamond” earrings (or two pendants)\, but there will be plenty of room for design creativity. Be prepared to learn tips and tricks that will advance your jewelry making to the next level! \nPlease note: It is important that students have basic metalsmithing knowledge\, either through the beginner 6-week metalsmithing course at Artascope or a comparable class. \nNon-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200. \nFee does not include materials. Supply kit is available from the instructor for $35 when series begins. Additional supplies are available to purchase separately as needed for class projects. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Carly Cooke has been a full-time bench jeweler since 2012\, and started her business\, Flux Jewelry Studio in 2018. Carly pieced together her jewelry education through workshops at Haystack\, Metalwerks\, SMCC\, and an inspiring year in Florence\, Italy learning traditional metalsmithing techniques. DESCRIPTION:Join award winning artist and popular instructor\, Eric Jacobsen for this 3-day workshop\, which starts Thursday\, August 24th and runs through Saturday\, August 26th from 9AM-4PM all three days. For students of all levels\, beginner through advanced. \nThis workshop is for oil and acrylics. We will focus on the fundamentals of good painting as it relates to landscape painting. We will cover the following topics: Composition\, Value\, Design\, Choosing a Motif\, Identifying and mixing accurate Warm and Cool Colors\, Establishing a Focal Point as well as Tips and Do’s and Don’ts for the Landscape Painter to consider. \nThe workshop will be complete with informal lectures\, instructor demos.
