SUMMARY:Earrings as Gifts - Saturday Metalsmithing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nSaturday\, December 9th from 1:30PM-7:30PM\nParticipants will be guided through jewelry-making basics\, from selecting materials\, tool use\, and safety to cutting and shaping metal to oxidizing and soldering pieces. Make up to four sets of earrings from scratch–textured studs\, silver hoops\, hammered brass\, and torch-fired enamel copper. This course has a $35 materials fee\, including handouts to re-create your favorites at home\, earring cards\, and boxes for gift giving. Beginner level. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The $35 materials kit can be purchased from the instructor at the beginning of the workshop. \n(For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have a 20-minute break\, so feel free to bring a snack. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Laura Jamison of LJ Studios Metalsmith is an instructor from New Hampshire. \n  \nClick here to view our cancellation policy.

SUMMARY:Beginner Silver Ring Bands One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nIn this workshop students will make their own silver rings from start to finish. This class will cover basic metalsmithing skills\, such as cutting\, shaping\, and joining metal. You will customize your ring bands with surface design techniques such as filing\, stamping\, and hammering. \nIMPORTANT: Masks are optional in this workshop. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The $25 materials kit can be purchased at the beginning of the workshop. (For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. The studio will be closed during this break\, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own\, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area. \nOpen to adults only. Please contact us directly if you are interested in seeing metalsmithing options for teens. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Kim Round got her degree in art at Florida State University and taught jewelry workshops in Tallahassee\, FL before making the move back home to Maine. She has been teaching Beginning Metalsmithing and other workshops at Artascope since 2016 and is thrilled to be part of a friendly & creative community.
