SUMMARY:Plein Air Painting Methods Two-Day Workshop (June 6th & June 20th)

Students can paint or draw in any medium. \nClass 1 on June 6th: Meet at 9AM at Artascope. \nClass 2 on June 20th: Meet at 9AM at Grist Mill Park in Yarmouth. \n$149 workshop fee does not include materials. A supply list can be found below the instructor bio. \n \n  \n\n\n  \nMust register before June 4th to attend two-day workshop format. Drop-ins per day are not available. \n\n\n\nAbout the instructor: Deena S. Ball is a nationally renowned landscape painter known for her innovative use of watercolor in combination with a textured ground and specialized surfaces. She received her BA in Art history and Studio Art from Colby College in Waterville\, Maine\, and continued her studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Art and Tyler School of Art. Deena’s work is exhibited extensively throughout the Mid-Atlantic region\, and can be found in issues of Watercolor Artist and the annual publications of the watercolor book\, Splash. Deena’s work is primarily landscapes with many of her paintings done on location outside. Learn more at www.deenasball.com. \n  \nClick here to view our cancellation policy. \n\n\n\n\n\nSUGGESTED SUPPLIES AND OTHER INFO FROM THE INSTRUCTOR \nBring your usual plein air painting supplies\, such as paints\, brushes\, mediums for oil painters\, something to paint on\, and a palette. Plus\, some kind of easel\, a chair or table and painting umbrella if you have one. Also a hat\, sunscreen\, bug spray\, and whatever else you need to spend the day outdoors. SUMMARY:Sketching from Life at the Yarmouth Community Garden (June 18th)
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, June 18th from 10am-1pm at the Yarmouth Community Garden \nJoin artist Catherine Bickford at the Yarmouth Community Garden for a one hour drawing workshop that will help you think about drawing in a totally new way. Don’t worry\, you won’t be asked to learn linear perspective! Instead you will be asked to draw from two different points of perspective\, one up close\, and the other further away. You will make both drawings on the same piece of paper. Through using this simple technique you will learn to create complex “synthetic” drawings that are more experiential than traditional drawings. All proceeds from this workshop will benefit the Yarmouth Community Garden. \nAvailable slots for ticket options: \n10AM-11AM \n11AM-NOON \nNOON-1PM \nCOST: $10/pp per one-hour session. (Proceeds to benefit Yarmouth Community Garden.) \n \n
