You will learn about the great expressionist painters such as Henri Matisse and Wassily Kandinsky. SUMMARY:Beginner Bezel Setting Thursday 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nStarts Thursday\, November 6th (Thursday mornings from 10:00AM-1:00PM for six weeks.) \nCLASS DATES: 11/6; 11/13; 11/20; 12/4; 12/11; and 12/18. (There is no class on 11/27.) \nThis course is a full overview of bezel settings\, starting with simple bezels and progressing up to custom setting unusual shapes. The first half of the series is project based. We will be making a pair of earrings\, a ring\, and a pendant. The second half of the series will be a self-designed project with instructor support. For the final project\, a selection of stones will be available but students are also welcome to bring in small stones or objects from home. This is a beginner class\, no prior metalsmithing experience is needed! \nFee does not include materials. The materials fee is $40 and includes everything needed to complete the course\, including your choice of stones. SUMMARY:Metalsmithing for Beginners Tuesday 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:Starts November 11th (Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for six weeks.) \nLearn the basics of jewelry metalsmithing in a fun\, relaxed atmosphere–no prior experience required. Each class will introduce tools and techniques to include hammering\, soldering\, and riveting\, as well as ways to shape and texture metal. Class projects include a hammered cuff\, fold-formed leaves and simple soldered rings as well as samples to inspire individual creativity and ways to customize projects. This series will also include important information on tool & equipment safety. A class overview can be emailed upon request. \nFee does not include materials. The required $30 materials supply kit can be purchased directly from the instructor.
