DESCRIPTION:Starts September 16th (Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for 6 weeks.) \n\n\nCLASS DATES: 9/16; 9/30; 10/7; 10/14; 10/21; and 10/28. There is no class on 9/23. \nDo you have a desire to explore yourself through acrylic painting? Do you want to learn playful and visually appealing techniques that will help you communicate your artistic vision? This class will instruct you in the basics of expressionist painting techniques such as washes\, scumbling\, sgraffitto\, and adding texture. You will learn about the great expressionist painters such as Henri Matisse and Wassily Kandinsky. SUMMARY:Getting Started with Landscape Painting One-Day workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, October 4th from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. \nIn this workshop\, students will learn the steps to simplify the process of acrylic landscape painting. Skills and techniques that will be covered include preparing your canvas and what makes a good composition–from layout\, shapes\, and color choices. Beginner and intermediate painters welcome! I tend to work with a lot of half inch to inch flat and angled brushes primarily. \n* I like to use a Masterson‘s wet pallet and also a pad of Grey Matters paper\, 12 x 16 for mixing. (Alternatively\, get the gray pallet paper if you’re just starting out and place it in a small cookie sheet.) \n* a container for water \n* an apron \n* a small spray bottle \n* a couple of pallet knives in plastic is fine.
