SUMMARY:Expressions in Painting 6-week Artist Series
DESCRIPTION:Starts March 23rd (Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for 6 weeks.) \nDo you have a desire to explore yourself through acrylic painting? Do you want to learn playful and visually appealing techniques that will help you communicate your artistic vision? This class will instruct you in the basics of expressionist painting techniques such as glazing\, washes\, scumbling\, and adding texture. You will learn about the great expressionist painters such as Van Gogh and Paul Klee. And\, you will discover a wealth of new tools to improve your paintings through use of value\, color\, and composition. Great for beginners who wish to learn the essentials of painting or for intermediate painters looking to break out of realism. \nNon-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200. \nFee does not include materials. She transforms and interprets Nature’s patterns and design to demonstrate variety of scale\, line\, form and beauty she observes. Anne received a BS in Studio Art from Skidmore College and a MFA in Painting from Boston University. We begin with a demo and warm up canvas\, then develop ideas based on colors from one source and imagery from another (artists’ works\, participants’ own photos\, project ideas\, etc.).
