SUMMARY:Introduction to Landscape Painting in Pastel
DESCRIPTION:Starts online via ZOOM Friday\, March 19th (Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for 6 weeks.) \nStudents will explore using soft pastels in landscape paintings\, and learn to capture the beauty of color and light while sharpening their ability to see through layering and mark making. In this 6-week instruction\, students of all levels can learn how to apply pastel on sanded paper by drawing an underpainting and will be shown different techniques on moving pastel around on the painting surface. A demonstration will take place each class\, along with individual and group time. Focus will be on composition\, light to dark values and temperature of color. These classes will be an approach to further your knowledge of the mystery of pastel and what you will want to expand on. A supply list can be emailed upon request. \nNon-members: $195 for 6 weeks. Members: $156. \n \n  \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Christina Davis is a painter of landscapes and works in oil\, acrylic\, and pastel. Her paintings are inspired by nature and the light\, color and movement that she sees. She paints in her studio and will travel to beaches or marshes to paint outside when weather permits. Her fascination is with sky and water and the movement and light changes that occur. It draws her into a flood of emotions\, like feeling the immense vastness and power of the open landscapes in comparison to how busy and sheltered our human world can be. Check out her work at www.christinadavispaintings.com or follow her on Instagram. (Cover image copyright of Christina Davis.) \n  \nClick here to view our cancellation policy.
