SUMMARY:Beginner Silver Ring Bands One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, March 15th from 9:30AM-4:30PM \nIn this workshop students will make their own silver rings from start to finish. This class will cover basic metalsmithing skills\, such as cutting\, shaping\, and joining metal. You will customize your ring bands with surface design techniques such as filing\, stamping\, and hammering. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The estimated $35* materials kit can be purchased at the beginning of the workshop. (For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \n*NOTE: This is an approximate cost and actual kit cost may be different due to the metals market fluctuation in 2026. \nWe will have an hour break for lunch midday. The studio will be closed during this break\, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own\, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area. \nOpen to adults only. Please contact us directly if you are interested in seeing metalsmithing options for teens. \nThis class will be held in our new location [opening in early February 2026] at 138 Bayview Street\, Yarmouth\, ME. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Kim Round got her degree in art at Florida State University and taught jewelry workshops in Tallahassee\, FL before making the move back home to Maine. She has been teaching Beginning Metalsmithing and other workshops at Artascope since 2016 and is thrilled to be part of a friendly & creative community. SUMMARY:Make Your Own Bezel Ring or Pendant - Saturday Metalsmithing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, March 28th from 1:30PM-7:30PM\nTake an exciting journey through the fundamentals of the metals studio with this metalsmithing workshop! Learn the basics of tools\, safety\, soldering\, forming\, and stone setting as you create your unique bezel ring or pendant in brass or copper\, and sterling silver bezel wire for the stone. Beginners are welcome; a $45 materials fee will provide all the supplies needed to complete the project. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The estimated materials kit fee is $45* and will be available to purchase from the instructor at the beginning of the workshop. Kit includes: Brass and copper sheet\, with sterling silver bezel wire for setting the stone. Choose a stone from instructor’s options or bring your own. \n*NOTE: This is an approximate cost and actual kit cost may be different due to the metals market fluctuation in 2026. \n(For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have a 20-minute break\, so feel free to bring a snack. \n \n  \n  \n\nInstructor: Olivia Boi creates jewelry at her home and metals studio in Maine. Sterling silver\, brass\, and beautifully cut stones are the bread and butter to her practice. She started Strong Moon Metals December 2017 and hasn’t looked back ever since.
