SUMMARY:Beginner Gouache Painting One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, November 3rd from 9AM-4PM\nIn this workshop we will discuss techniques\, planning a composition\, and how to build a painting in gouache. Students will learn how to mix paint\, how to handle it\, and properties unique to gouache paint. We will begin with a demonstration and warm up exercises. After a lunch break we will begin drawing out compositions and bringing a final painting to life! \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. A supply list can be found below the instructor bio photo. \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. The studio will be closed during this break\, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own\, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area. \n \n  \n  \n\nAbout the instructor: Jessica Myer earned her MFA in 2013 with a focus in illustrative painting\, specific to children’s books. She has an extensive background in fine art gallery management and\, most recently\, has taught art to youth groups local to Cumberland County. Over the years she has taught a wide variety of audiences in the New England area including New York\, Massachusetts\, and Maine. Myer is now working as a studio artist in Portland\, Maine. DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT.\nSaturday\, November 23rd from 1:30PM-7:30PM\nTake an exciting journey through the fundamentals of the metals studio with this metalsmithing workshop! Learn the basics of tools\, safety\, soldering\, forming\, and stone setting as you create your unique bezel ring or pendant. Beginners are welcome; a $30 materials fee will provide all the supplies needed to complete the project.
