SUMMARY:Fundamentals of Oil Painting Without Solvents One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn a non-toxic method of oil painting that does not require turpentine. We will cover the initial set up and clean up in addition to learning how to apply the paint to various substrates. We will cover a variety of content\, painting from observation and also learning how to paint from photographs. We will cover color and composition. The emphasis in this workshop will be learning new ways to work with oil paint. We will even learn how to work with an acrylic paint base coat for oil painting. Please bring your oil paints and a few canvases or wood panels that have been gessoed in advance. Beginners welcome! \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. A supply list can be emailed upon request. \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nSaturday\, January 27th from 1:30PM-7:30PM\nThis workshop will guide you through the fundamentals of the metals studio\, including tools\, safety\, soldering\, filing\, and sanding\, to help you create a beautiful and unique spinner ring. This course is suitable for beginners\, and there is a $30 materials fee\, which will provide you with everything you need to complete your spinner ring. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The $30 materials kit can be purchased from the instructor at the beginning of the workshop. \n(For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have a 20-minute break\, so feel free to bring a snack. \nOpen to adults only. This class will cover basic metalsmithing skills\, such as cutting\, shaping\, and joining metal.
