SUMMARY:Signet Ring Wax Carving Two-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nSignet Ring Wax Carving Two-day Workshop on April 3rd (full-day) and April 24th (half-day). \nLearn the ancient technique of lost wax casting. In the first class on Sunday\, April 3rd from 9AM-4PM\, you will design\, lay out\, and carve a signet ring in your choice of several shapes. \nWe next meet on Sunday\, April 24th from 9AM-NOON for you to clean up and finish your ring after it is cast in your choice of silver or brass. \nBasic wax carving\, tool use\, and finishing techniques will be covered. No prior metalsmithing experience necessary. \n$149 workshop fee does not include materials. Supply kit available from instructor for $35 when series begins. (For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm on the first workshop day. Bring your own lunch or check out one of the local restaurants in the area. \nNOTE: COVID-19 protocols are in place for the safety of our teachers and students\, including wearing masks while inside the building. \nOpen to adults only. Carly pieced together her jewelry education through workshops at Haystack\, Metalwerks\, SMCC\, and an inspiring year in Florence\, Italy learning traditional metalsmithing techniques.
