SUMMARY:Signet Ring Wax Carving Two-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nSignet Ring Wax Carving Two-day Workshop on January 9th (full-day) and January 30th (half-day). \nLearn the ancient technique of lost wax casting. In the first class on Sunday\, January 9th from 9AM-4PM\, you will design\, lay out\, and carve a signet ring in your choice of several shapes. \nWe next meet on Sunday\, January 30th from 9AM-NOON for you to clean up and finish your ring after it is cast in your choice of silver or brass. \nBasic wax carving\, tool use\, and finishing techniques will be covered. No prior metalsmithing experience necessary. \n$149 workshop fee does not include materials. Supply kit available from instructor for $35 when series begins. (For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm on the first workshop day. Bring your own lunch or check out one of the local restaurants in the area. \nNOTE: COVID-19 protocols are in place for the safety of our teachers and students\, including wearing masks while inside the building. \nOpen to adults only. DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT. \nPrecious Metal Clay (PMC) combines the ease of working with bronze clay and the results of precious metals. Learn rolling\, stamping and cutting techniques during the creation process and see how they translate to kiln fired bronze PMC pieces. \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1:00PM. Feel free to bring your own lunch to eat outside\, or check out one of the local restaurants. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. This class will cover basic metalsmithing skills\, such as cutting\, shaping\, and joining metal. You will customize your ring bands with surface design techniques such as roller-printing\, stamping\, and hammering. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials.
