SUMMARY:Bezel Setting Thursday One-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, May 8th from 9:00AM-4:00PM \nThis workshop will walk students through the technique of bezel setting stone. Students will be introduced to the tools and techniques required to make custom\, handmade jewelry. No prior experience needed. \nDuring the first half of the workshop we will cover soldering and setting stones by making a pair of earrings using bezel cups. After the lunch break\, we will learn how to measure the stone and construct our own bezel using bezel wire. At the completion of the workshop\, you will have mastered the technique of bezel setting and take home a unique\, hand crafted pair of earrings and a pendant. An overview can be emailed upon request. \n$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The materials supply kit to make the earrings and pendant only (no chain) is $30 and can be purchased directly from the instructor with Venmo or cash. Extra material will be available for purchase. Students are also welcome to bring their own tools or materials. \n(For safety\, be sure to wear closed toe shoes and have long hair pulled back with clips or in a ponytail.) \nWe will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. SUMMARY:Signet Ring Wax Carving Two-Day Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn the ancient technique of wax carving in this two-day workshop. \nIn the first class on Sunday\, March 9th from 9AM-4PM\, you will design\, lay out\, and carve a signet ring out of wax in your choice of several shapes. We will meet three weeks later on Sunday\, March 30th from 9AM-NOON for you to clean up and finish your ring after it is cast in either silver or brass. Basic wax carving\, tool use\, and finishing techniques will be covered. The casting process will occur off-site during the three weeks between classes. Many of the unique engraved finishes and detail techniques Carly uses in her designs were passed down from the expert hands of jewelers working in the traditional Italian metalsmithing style. SUMMARY:Wax Carving Gemstone Ring - Two-Day Metalsmithing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, February 2nd (6 hours) and Sunday\, February 16th (6 hours)\nLearn how to carve a wax ring\, which will be sent out to be cast in Sterling Silver after the first workshop day of February 2nd. You will finish the ring on the second workshop day of February 16th by adding a bezel cup and setting the gemstone. \nStudents will choose one gemstone to set in the ring. PLEASE BRING A SKETCHBOOK AND PENCIL. \nDAY ONE – February 2nd from 9:30AM-4:30PM \nIn the first class\, students will learn to carve a ring from wax and quickly get to work. Once our design is finished at the end of class we will send the rings out to a caster and then receive them in time for the second class. \nDAY TWO – February 16th from 9:30AM-4:30PM \nThe second part of the workshop will consist of cleaning up the metal casting\, creating a bezel cup and soldering to the ring. DESCRIPTION:Signet Ring Wax Carving Two-day Workshop on October 20th (full-day) and November 10th (half-day). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn the ancient technique of wax carving in this two-day workshop (9 hours total). \nIn the first class on Sunday\, October 20th from 9AM-4PM\, you will design\, lay out\, and carve a signet ring out of wax in your choice of several shapes.
