We appreciate your interest in our classes for adults. Our 6-week Artist Series meet once a week for 3 hours and cost $250 per 6-week session. Our One-Day Workshops typically cost $99. Current studio members receive 20% off all classes offered at Artascope. For info about inclement weather and how it might affect classes, please click HERE.
If cancelling up to a week before class starts, refunds are available (less a $25 processing fee). / If cancelling within a week before class starts, refunds are 25% of purchase price. / If cancelling within 48 hours of a class start, you will not receive a refund. We will do our best to find you a comparable class at our discretion.

Drawing Still Life in Charcoal 6-week Artist Series

Starts Monday, July 10th (Mondays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for six weeks.)
Learn the basics of how to draw from life using vine charcoal. This course is great for beginners or those who wish to improve their observational skills. We will focus on interior set ups that allow us to draw for extended periods of time. Instructor Catherine Bickford will demonstrate how to simplify what you see into basic shapes and planes allowing you to create strong composition. We will investigate what it means to understand your own “mark” and will find new ways to relate to the world through drawing.
Materials not included: Please bring an ample supply of vine charcoal and drawing paper or Strathmore Bristol smooth pad (preferred). You will also need erasers and a chamois cloth.
Non-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200.
