Decoratively Bound Books One-Day Workshop
January 12, 2025 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sunday, January 12th from 9:00AM-4:00PM
Expand your book binding skills learning a new hand bound book! We begin this full day book arts workshop by designing our Paste Papers. These decorative papers will then be used to bind two multi-gathering books with decorative stitching. The French Sewn is a twisted decorative stitch sewn on tabs, which will be laced into a folded paper cover. The link stitched book is sewn with two needles into a concertina cover.
Tools & materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite papers and collage materials.
Great for beginners who wish to learn the basics of paper decorating, book binding and artist book concepts.
$99 workshop fee does not include materials. The $25 materials kit can be purchased directly from the instructor the morning of the workshop.
Open to adults, but those aged 15 and up are welcome if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. The studio will be closed during this break, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area.
