Beginner Pastels 6-week Artist Series
September 13, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Starts Monday, September 13th (Mondays from 1PM-4PM for six weeks.)
Students will become well grounded in working with pastels, such as working from dark to light, different stroke techniques to create different effects, painting from nature and other objects (trees, boats, windows, doors), and more. Each class will start with a teacher demo, followed by student painting time, and finishing up with a critique. The last two classes will be held outdoors (weather permitting) to get a feel for plein air painting with pastels.
Non-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200.
Fee does not include materials. A list of recommended supplies can be emailed upon request.
NOTE: COVID-19 protocols are in place for the safety of our teachers and students, including wearing masks while inside the building.
About the instructor: Corrine (Lynds) Bongiovanni yearned to draw and create from the time she could hold a pencil. Ever a doodler and mentally composing art works from scenes around her, she finally started sketching lessons at age 28. She hasn’t stopped learning or producing art since. Training in various mediums and styles followed. She continues to paint in watercolors, oils, acrylics, and pastels. Her favorite content includes people, old architecture, and landscapes. She has also enjoyed a specialty in golf art and has photographed and painted courses from Canada to Grand Cayman Island. Corrine is an exhibiting artist at Roux & Cyr International Gallery in Portland, ME and at Mast Cove Gallery in Kennebunkport, ME.
