Acrylic Techniques 6-week Artist Series – THURSDAY PM
November 3, 2022 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Starts November 3rd (Thursday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for 6 weeks.)
NOTE: Class dates are 11/3; 11/10; 11/17 and 12/1; 12/8; 12/15. There is no class on 11/28.
This series is a hybrid class, with an in-person ticket option at the studio for up to 6 attendees. If In-Person tickets are sold out, you may purchase an Online Seat and attend via ZOOM. All in-person students can use the online class option as needed, but those who purchase the Online Seat ticket may only attend via ZOOM.
Artists explore basic acrylic painting techniques in a flexible, supportive setting. Color mixing and theories, paint and imagery layering, composition, and other fundamentals are discussed. We paint and interpret from observation, photo or printed references, and imagination. Contemporary and past artists act as kindred spirits and influence weekly prompts. We begin with a demo and warm up canvas, then develop ideas based on colors from one source and imagery from another (artists’ works, participants’ own photos, project ideas, etc.) All levels are welcome.
Supplies: Contact Alex before purchasing any supplies if you are new to the series.
Non-members: $250 for 6 weeks. Members: $200.
NOTE: For the safety of our teachers and students, masks are required while inside the studio. Click HERE to review our COVID protocols before registering for the series.
Instructor bio: Alex Rheault is an interdisciplinary artist, curator, and writer. She teaches at USM, UNE, and privately. Rheault explores domestic and discarded objects, skyscapes, cars, dreams, memory, and imagination, and is working on a writing project.
