Stained Glass Suncatcher One-Day Workshop

Sunday, April 19th from 9:00AM-4:00PM
In this one day class we will cover every step of the copper foil stained glass technique including cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering. A selection of templates will be provided (pictured below the artist bio), but we will also cover design considerations, so you can turn your own ideas into functional pieces of luminous art for your home in the future. Expect to leave class with one completed suncatcher with an attached prism (optional) if you want rainbows!
$99 workshop fee does not include materials. A kit fee of $40 covers design templates, a selection of glass, one prism, chain, and access to all tools needed to complete your project.
We will have an hour break for lunch between Noon-1pm. The studio will be closed during this break, but there are nearby parks where you can eat lunch if you brought your own, or you can check out one of the local restaurants in the area.
Open to adults only.
About the instructor: Carly Cooke is a full time professional jeweler who fell in love with stained glass and started her second business, Hot Glass Sass a few years ago. Since then, she has created window pieces and lighting for herself and friends, and sells her work at craft shows and galleries in Southern Maine, where juicy color and fun, unconventional themes are trademarks of her stained glass work. As an educator, Carly loves to share the technical process of stained glass art as well as encouraging students to find their own stylistic voice.
